PROPOSAL FOR SHARING TRANING FACILITIES AMONG ACD MEMBER COUNTRIES IN THE FIELD OF “ STANDARDIZATION & QUALITY ASSURANCE”
The Ministry of Science and Technology, Pakistan has drafted the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) for possible cooperation amongst the ACD countries in the field of standards. The MRA has already been forwarded to ACD member countries for their views/inputs. Feedback from ACD coordinator is awaited.
5. Difficulties encountered/Issues of concern:
We had requested the member countries for the provision of relevant information on their respective standardization activities. The idea was to have considerable knowledge about member countries’ level of expertise so that future plan of action could be devised accordingly. However, response to our request was quite lukewarm as so far only 14 member countries have provided the desired information.
Out of 29 member countries, only 5 have submitted comments /inputs on our proposed Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) i.e. Bhutan, Brunei, China, Malaysia and Oman.
6. Future activities:
Future activities would be planned once we receive views/inputs from member countries on the draft MRA.
7. Issue(s) requiring Ministers’ decision or endorsement:
The member countries may be urged to provide the requisite information at the earliest to expedite substantive progress on the concept paper. 8. Contact person (name/position/Organization):
